Location

The coldest winter hike we have so far had happened in Mont Tremblant. In January 2021 we booked a cabin, grabbed our microspikes, trekking poles, and off we went on an adventure. Mont Tremblant park is 150 km and about 2 hours of driving from Montreal. Park met us in all its winter beauty. And with well-cleaned roads, you can easily reach your cabins.

Cabin

Ours was in a beautiful place in the Tamia Campagnol sector, not far from a visitor center. It was looking very nice from the outside.

And very cozy inside:

We brought our sleeping bags and inflatable pillows. But they have 4 pillows and if you want to use them, just put your own pillowcases on.

One small thing which gives you an understanding that people do take care of you and want you to feel comfortable in here. Two curtains you can unfold to separate living room and bedroom )))

Also, there is a shower (bring your towels and gel) in the bathroom with a window.

But what we liked the most is a big window with a beautiful view you can enjoy while drinking a coffee. Isn’t it amazing?

Even the weather was pretty cold, we couldn’t resist making a bonfire. And we did.

Cold morning

Morning met us by the incredible cold. It looks like it would be the coldest winter hike! Though the weather forecast had promised some warming or let’s say not so cold day a few hours later.

Winter hike

Go hiking is a way to get yourself in the winter spirit mood. This is exactly what we did that day: we spotted the special place where the door to Narnia is and opened the door 🙂 And we were not disappointed

️I put here a few pictures from our hike though I have many more to share. So, I highly recommend watching the video too.

Our goal was the Mont des Cascades trail. The loop is about 9 km and a difficult one. The most difficult and steepest part begins almost right after the starting point.

We hiked a few hundred meters and stopped to put our spikes on. That day spikes would be more helpful than snowshoes.

Relax after winter hike

We like the winter. With all that snow, cold, snowy trees along the road, a cozy, warm cabin in the forest.

We did it!

And appreciate what we have and very grateful for that. Everyone has their own way to recover. And this one is ours.

Cheers!
